Construction Claims
Client: New Jersey Turnpike Authority
MDCSystems® was selected by the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, represented by their law firm, to review and analyze an errors and omissions claim against the project designers. The project, located on the Garden State Parkway, was a renovation of the existing Driscoll Bridge and the construction of a new parallel bridge over the Raritan River and was initiated by the New Jersey Highway Authority which later merged with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. In addition to the bridge work, additional highway approach lanes were constructed.
MDCSystems® analysis included the review of contract drawings and specifications, change orders, cost records, daily progress reports, payment estimates, and correspondence. Due to the size of the document base, appropriate records were subject coded and stored in a computerized information retrieval system. The contractor’s planned schedule was analyzed and used as a baseline for a detailed Time Impact Analysis.
MDCSystems® then developed the evidence concerning the bridge design errors and omissions and the resulting schedule extension and costs in a comprehensive series of graphics to support the resolution of the matter.
