Singapore Pharmaceutical Project – MDC® was asked to investigate and analyze the delay and cost overrun experienced on this bulk pharmaceutical manufacturing project in Singapore. MDC® conducted extensive site visits and personnel interviews to determine the major problems experienced in the construction of the facility. Using analysis tools such as Time Impact Analysis® and Forensic Project Management®, MDC® determined that the root cause of the project failure was defective engineering design work. MDC® conducted an investigation of the 3D-CADD systems used by the design professional and determined that software incompatibility led to a condition where over 10,000 identified errors were present in the final issued-for-construction drawings.
